Located at 433 Third Avenue, New York University’s new College of Nursing is situated in the heart of the University’s “Health Corridor” which includes New York University Langone Medical Center and New York University School of Medicine. The new 170,000-square-foot, 11-story facility offers the latest state-of-the-art educational technology and brings students, faculty, researchers, and staff together under one roof for the first time in the College’s 80-year history. The building features multimedia lecture halls; a Clinical Simulation Learning Center; and a Learning Commons equipped with printing stations, group study rooms, reading rooms, lounges, and a café. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates and EYP Architecture & Engineering, approximately 55,000 square feet of the building is dedicated to the expansion of NYU’s College of Dentistry and the University’s Bioengineering Program, creating a cross-disciplinary environment that encourages collaboration.
Poulin + Morris was commissioned to create an environmental graphics, donor recognition, and wayfinding sign program for the new building. The program includes exterior and interior identification for New York University that comply with NYU graphic design standards incorporating the typeface Gotham, as well as the University’s iconic purple color. Informational, identification, directional/wayfinding, donor recognition, and code-related sign requirements are also part of the overall scope of work for the new facility.
