The renovation and expansion of the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts, a 2,200-seat performing arts facility located on the C. W. Post Campus of Long Island University in Brookville, Long Island, called for a flexible, mid-size public space that would host 2,250 people.

A comprehensive environmental graphics, donor recognition, and wayfinding sign program was developed for the Center which includes all informational, identification, directional/wayfinding, donor recognition, and code-related sign requirements, as well as row and seat identification. In keeping with established and new architectural vocabularies, signs are fabricated in glass, painted aluminum, and stainless steel.

The design team also worked closely with the Center’s staff on a new branding and graphic identity program, as well as print media design standards. The prototypical material includes OnStage, a calendar containing program and event listings/dates, order forms, and seating charts. The calendar was made available to the general public at various venues throughout the tri-state area, and as an insert supplement with the Sunday New York Times.

The project was recognized by Graphis for Design Excellence in Graphic Design.
