Founded in 1927, J. J. Gumberg Co. is one of the largest retail real estate investment
and development firms in the United States. Throughout their history, J. J. Gumberg Co.
has invested in various real estate sectors, including industrial, commercial, residential,
and retail. However, during the past 30 years, the firm has moved more aggressively into
the shopping center industry–today they host more than 2,000 quality retail establishments
generating sales in excess of $2 billion annually.
As their success mounted, J. J. Gumberg Co. sought out Poulin + Morris to bring a new,
more refined visual brand and identity to the firm. In addition to a logotype, stationery,
and website designed to reflect the esteemed history of the firm, Poulin + Morris
developed
a company prospectus and site-specific sign standards to promote property leasing and sales,
as well as a comprehensive branding and graphic identity program for their new international
real estate development ventures–Gumberg Global.
The Gumberg Global component of the project was recognized by Graphis and Novum World of
Graphic Design (Germany) for Design Excellence in Graphic Design.
